HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH:

CATS: Garfield is happy as an only cat. He would be ok living with another cat.

DOGS: Garfield is fine with some dogs and hostile to others.

KIDS: Garfield has lived with kids and is fine! Older kids are probably best.

KNOWN LIKES: Garfield's favorite thing in the world is curling up on a human's lap.

He also has a playful side.

Garf has a special talent: claiming laps. And we mean every lap. Not sitting yet? Don’t worry – with a gentle tap on your leg, he’ll politely (but firmly) let you know it’s time to sit. The more laps, the better – Garf will spread the love to everyone.

When he’s not glued to your lap, Garf is a toy-chasing, high-jumping dynamo. His acrobatics with a wand toy are sure to impress. But after a good play session, he’ll take a well-earned break and curl up in a cozy spot for a power nap.

Among the many cats his foster has cared for, Garf stands out for his big personality. He’s not just affectionate; he’s aggressively affectionate. He'll demand your attention, but don’t mistake his love for weakness – if you cross a boundary, he’ll let you know with a gentle pop (claws in, of course). Sweet but sassy – that’s Garf.

He’s perfectly content as the only cat in the house and is a huge fan of humans. He might tolerate another cat, especially if they're the right fit, and with the right introduction, he could even get along with a dog. But some dogs are simply not his style, and he’ll let them know with a firm “pop.”

A heads-up: Garf does have a habit of getting a little too close for comfort. He’s often underfoot, so he’s best suited for a home with steady feet and older children who can handle his energy and enthusiasm.
