Sweet Nadia has traveled a long way to find her forever family. This beautiful girl came to Homeward Trails all the way from Puerto Rico, and her transformation since arriving has been nothing short of inspiring. When Nadia first arrived, she spent her first 12 hours tucked under a couch — too scared to move or trust her new surroundings. But with patience, love, and the help of her doggie friends, Nadia has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate pup who now greets her people with happy jumps and tail wags.

Nadia is incredibly smart and observant — she’s mastered puzzle toys in minutes and loves figuring things out by watching her furry companions. She enjoys collecting her toys and arranging them in her crate like prized treasures, often napping beside them. She’s a gentle girl who only chews on her hooves, horns, or crunchy treats (though she may sneak a sock into her crate for safe keeping — purely as decoration!).

This little lady has excellent manners: she’s quiet indoors, house-trained, and even uses the doggie door and bells to let you know when she wants to go outside. She walks beautifully on leash, doesn’t pull, and loves exploring every scent along the way. Car rides? She’s a fan!

Nadia adores other dogs and loves running, playing chase, and basking in the sunshine. She’s a bit shy when meeting new people, but once she realizes you’re friendly, she’ll snuggle right up for belly rubs and soft kisses. Nadia is a true lap dog at heart — loving, loyal, and so ready to bond deeply with her humans.

She delights in treats, bully sticks, and outdoor adventures, and she’ll happily greet everyone she meets with a wagging tail and bright eyes. Nadia has made an incredible journey — from a timid little soul to a confident, joyful young dog — and now she’s ready to share her love with a family of her very own.

Nadia arrived at Homeward Trails from Puerto Rico. Upon her arrival, she spent the initial 12 hours concealed beneath the couch, unwilling to walk, and frightened of everything around her. She has made so much improvement learning from her dog mates in her foster home, and no longer hides, instead she jumps around to greet you happily. She is a brand new dog, with a new lease on life, just looking for someone to share her many more years with.

Nadia has demonstrated an impressive ability to solve puzzle toys, retrieving the hidden treats within minutes. We are convinced that she possesses a high level of intelligence. She is gradually learning about toys by observing her animal companions. Nadia enjoys taking the toys and adorning her crate with them, moving them around and resting beside them. Her favorite things to chew on are hooves, horns, and anything crunchy. She is pretty quiet indoors, but will definitely tell you if someone is at the door. She has never chewed on anything other than what is given to her, although you might find the occasional sock hidden in her crate, never chewed on, just stowed away.

Nadia loves to go on walks and take joy rides in the car. She is progressed so much, and does not pull on leash and enjoys smelling all the scents along the way. She loves to snuggle up with everyone and give small little kisses. She is a true lap dog, and although she is a bit nervous meeting new people, she warms up quickly once they sit and she understands they are friendly. Nadia loves exploring around the back yard, and has learned how to use the doggie door and doggie bells to go outside.

Nadia delights in soaking up the sun outdoors and enjoys running and playing chase with other dogs. She appreciates treats and bully sticks, often hiding them in her crate or trying to bury them in the yard. She greets other dogs and people during walks and loves to explore new areas. Indoors, she keeps herself entertained by redecorating her crate with toys and concealing her bones in secret spots—though she won't disclose where. She joyfully wags her tail whenever she sees her humans and will become your lifelong best friend if you offer her a belly rub. She truly is the perfect pup!
