ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:

Nancy is a GEM, any family would be lucky to have her.

Nancy is a sweet and quirky pup who has made great progress in her foster home and is ready to find her forever family! She’s gentle, goofy, and has a big heart—especially when it comes to kids and other dogs. Nancy loves canine companions and loves to cuddle and play with them. She is always happy to be near her humans too.

When people come to the door or into the house, she doesn't bark once! She just goes up to them wagging her tail, eager to make new friends. She LOVES kids and has done fantastic with the foster's young cousins and with her neighbors. She will definitely make a great family dog.

Nancy is working hard on her leash manners and has already made huge strides! She used to bark and lunge at passing dogs out of friendly enthusiasm. Now, with some tasty treats and redirection, she is much more focused and calm. She’s also learning basic cues like "sit" and working on respecting food boundaries—her enthusiasm sometimes leads her to explore countertops! A baby gate currently helps manage her curiosity, and with more training (like learning “place”), she’ll soon be able to hang out calmly in the kitchen.

Nancy is full of love and personality. She is eager to find a home with a dog companion and someone able to help her continue to make more strides in her dog obedience training.

Nancy was found as a stray and brought to a rural shelter before she make her way to Homeward Trails. This very sweet girl is eager to find her forever home.
