-KNOWN WITH DOGS: Rufus LOVES to play with other pups and would thrive with a playful canine companion!!

-KNOWN WITH CATS: LOVES cats - currently best friends with the resident cat and loves to play. Would pair well with another friendly and playful cat.

-KNOWN WITH KIDS: He is very curious, affectionate, and playful. Rufus has absolutely no clue of what personal space means and loves to lick a kiddo's (and an adult's) face.

-KNOWN CUES: "wait" (food cue), "get in your bed", "come", "crate".

-KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Housebroken and housetrained. He does well in a crate for reasonable periods.

-KNOWN LIKES: Being able to play with other dogs, especially those with high energy; loves spending time with his people; squeaky toys, games, and attention!!

-KNOWN DISLIKES: Being around Chickens, being left in a crate ALLLLLL day long (totally fine for a few hours at a time. He's still a puppy!!!!)

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Rufus is an adorable 10-month-old pup (as of 5/18) who is looking for a family ready for fun, affection, and a little bit of chaos in the best possible way. He is social, loving, playful, and wonderfully people-oriented. Rufus gets along beautifully with dogs and cats and would make an amazing family companion.

Rufus previously lived on a farm, but it became clear that farm life was not the right fit for him due to his interest in chickens and other small animals. He would do best in a home without livestock or poultry.

Notes from the foster: Rufus is still very much a puppy and brings a ton of goofy energy wherever he goes. He loves to play hard, snuggle hard, and be involved in absolutely everything his people are doing. He is incredibly affectionate and eager to connect with both people and animals.

He settles nicely after playtime, is learning routines quickly, and responds especially well to structure and consistency. Rufus would do best with an active family that understands puppy energy and is ready to continue helping him grow into an amazing adult dog.
