ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Betty is a very sweet girl, who loves to go on walks and snuggle with her humans. She should be an only dog, she loves all the attention. Don't miss out on this girl, she is such a sweetie.
From Betty's foster
We have fostered sweet Betty for about 2 months and below is what we know about her:
She is very calm and gentle. She almost never barks. The very few occasions when she has barked were when unfamiliar people were entering our home, but she doesn’t bark at passersby or anyone ringing the doorbell and staying outside. She is shy and can get scared easily (she was shaking when she first met us). She is sometimes okay with other dogs (smelling them), but not other times. So it’s hard to tell when or which dogs she’ll get along with. However, she will get scared if other dogs run to her and/or bark at her loudly.
She has separation anxiety. She does not like to be alone at all. It’s not enough to be at home with her. She needs to be able to see you in the same room. She pants hard if you leave her by herself. She will follow you wherever you go. We tried to leave her by herself twice (about 30 minutes each time) but could clearly tell she was very distressed both times. During our absences, she did not act out or misbehave in any manner, but was just visibly distraught once we returned.
She is very well house trained and holds her bodily functions until we take her outside. Otherwise, we just let her walk freely in the house.
Her favorite thing to do is going to different places to sniff (she doesn’t like trails as much as she loves open areas with grass/trees and neighborhoods). She likes leisurely walks and stops often to sniff at things. She can last about an hour and half each time but probably less in hot weather. We have been taking her to different parks/neighborhoods almost daily and she absolutely loves it. She also loves car rides and loves to stick her nose out the window. She does very well in the car.
She loves routine. She does not like to play with toys, does not do fetch, etc. She doesn’t like too much attention or snuggles (it’s ok if you give her a few snuggles though). She does greet you if you come home from outside. She loves to just sit, look out the window/door, sleep by your side and get treats. She especially love chicken.
She is calm and gentle with children. She does not get stressed by noise. But she doesn’t like it if kids play with her too much since she does not like overbearing touching/snuggles.
Overall Betty is a gentle, quiet, calm and sweet companion.
